WELCOME

It is a privilege to serve this community as the founder, CEO and president of Ceria M. Travis Academy Inc. Our schools are a main part of our organization, and we are proud to be an educational institution in the city of Milwaukee. In 1996, I stepped out on faith and opened our school that we might make a difference in the lives of children. Our primary focus is to provide a positive learning experience for our students in need of a different approach to learning. A loving and nurturing environment becomes the vehicle by which we serve our students. We are pleased that every year brings academic and behavioral improvement for our students. Our school is founded on principles and values that encourage children to learn, create and grow. We realized that students have different learning styles, and our staff work hard to implement the Wisconsin State standards in a way that bring out the best in our children.

The unique thing about our schools is that we offer 360 degrees of service. Our focus is on the needs of the whole child, which encompasses academic achievement and relationship skills. We are fortunate to have a staff that work together to give our students strong foundations in the fundamentals of learning. We accept all students and often we have a need to develop individual learning plans for our most challenging students. We believe that every child should find his or her place on the wall. That is, to become an active member of the student body, and take ownership of our school. Reading, writing, and mathematics are still the primary tools that shape the learning of our students. We also teach communication and leadership skills, every child is involved in some extracurricular club or activity.

Presently, we have two schools: Ceria M. Travis Academy and Travis Technology High School. You are visiting the Travis Technology website. Because we want to prepare students for the 21st century, we opened the Travis Technology High School just two years ago. The goal is to seek out those students with an interest in graphic design, video production, and music technology. We give those students the opportunity to impact world through those areas of technology. Both of our schools have been recognized for the positive things they are accomplishing with our students. We have a motto that says: We welcome visitors; parents; community leaders; and all who share the vision for educating children. Our goal is to increase the number of children who have a healthy attitude toward life and want to become successful in our community.
